Taboão & Machado waterfalls– Nature in Motion Hidden within the lush landscapes of Minas Gerais, Brazil, these two waterfalls reveal contrasting expressions of nature’s power and serenity. Waterfall Taboão is intimate and immersive — a smaller cascade embraced by dense Atlantic Forest. Surrounded by rich greens, textured rocks, and filtered sunlight, Taboão feels secluded and alive. The layered flow of water over stone creates a rhythmic movement that blends harmoniously with the forest’s stillness. In contrast, Waterfall Machado rises taller and more commanding. With an abundant and continuous volume of water, it crashes down with strength and elegance, carving its presence into the landscape. The scale and force of Machado create a dramatic scene, where sound, mist, and motion dominate the senses. To capture the essence of both waterfalls, I used neutral density filters and long exposure techniques to create a silky, flowing effect in the water. This approach transforms movement into softness, revealing a dreamlike quality while preserving the raw textures of rock and forest.
